1. New York Knicks
The New York Knicks’ lack of lottery luck continued in 2022. New York has dropped down the order in the lottery numerous times, but not once in the history of their franchise have they moved up via the lottery. Given how much losing they have done in recent history, it is quite astonishing they haven’t once moved up.
This year, the New York Knicks didn’t move in either direction, as they entered 11th and left in the same spot. They are going to have to create their own luck moving up and should aggressively be searching out deals to land Jaden Ivey.
The point guard position has been a mostly barren wasteland for years in New York. They need to find a long-term answer at the position this offseason and Ivey could be their guy if a deal presents itself.
There have been rumors that the orange and blue are willing to move Julius Randle for the right price. Could the Kings be a team interested in Randle to help end their playoff drought, making the No. 4 pick available?

Or maybe the Portland Trail Blazers would be willing to build a package with the No. 7 pick, giving New York the ammunition to really make a big move up the board with that selection and their own, No. 11.
Exploring options to land a top prospect in this year’s draft would be good business for the New York Knicks. While they have been linked to a few All-Stars that may become available, they aren’t in a position yet to truly contend, so adding more young, high-upside players to the mix would make the most sense.
