The 2022 NBA Draft is quickly approaching. With the NBA Combine now behind us, teams are beginning to host their own workouts, bringing in prospects to get a better idea of how to set their board and who they want to target.

No team will have identical boards, which will lead to trades up and down the board to match player values. One player that seems destined to go in the top five is Jaden Ivey out of Purdue.

The explosive guard had a wonderful sophomore season with the Boilermakers, earning an All-American nod and cementing himself as one of the best players in this year’s draft class. While some analysts believe a top-3 of Jabari Smith Jr., Chet Holmgren, and Paolo Banchero have emerged, some plugged in analysts say to not count out Ivey for a top pick.

It sounds as if teams are higher on Ivey than people who are making mock drafts, who often have him in the 4-6 range. That gives the teams that would love to select him a target range to trade up into so they have the chance to land the Purdue product.
