Sacramento Kings
The Sacramento Kings have all the same incentives as the Portland Trail Blazers to trade down.
This organization needs to win next year. They’re currently riding a 16-year playoff drought. That’s not just bad: it’s the worst mark in NBA history.
Luckily, help is on the way. The lottery gods smiled on the Kings this year by handing them the fourth overall pick in the NBA draft. Could they use the selection to land a high-level veteran instead of a prospect?
It would certainly make sense. Like the Trail Blazers, the Kings are seen as potential suitors for Jerami Grant. Realistically, the fourth overall pick feels like an overpay for his services, but the Kings could be desperate enough to offer it anyway.

If not, look for them to find another way to use this pick to land a quality player. Some expect them to simply select Keegan Murray. He looks more NBA-ready than other prospects they could take in that range.
At the same time, if NBA readiness is their criteria, why keep the pick at all? Look for the Sacramento Kings to explore situations that involve trading down instead.
