There has been a lot of chatter this offseason already about what the Los Angeles Lakers will do with their roster. A lot of people assume they will look to move on from Russell Westbrook, and the Hornets have been mentioned as a potential landing spot.
Charlotte is looking to shed some money, as they want to move on from Gordon Hayward’s contract. Already linked to the Lakers, the Hornets should not be inquiring about Westbrook, but instead Anthony Davis.
Anthony Davis is exactly what Charlotte needs to help take this team to the next level. There are legitimate concerns about his health, but when he is on the court, he remains one of the most impactful two-way players in the NBA.
The former No. 1 overall pick is an elite defender, capable of erasing shots around the rim and athletic and nimble enough to stick with players on the perimeter. While he prefers playing power forward, he has the versatility to play either frontcourt spot.

Offensively, Anthony Davis would provide the Hornets with a true go-to scorer in the halfcourt that can create offense. His presence would make things easier for the other scorers on the roster, as teams will be focused more on Davis, who has shown a willingness to be a passer as well.
His addition would help push Charlotte up the standings in the Eastern Conference. A Ball-Bridges-Davis trio would be a lot for teams to handle, as the Hornets would still have more pieces to create a strong rotation around them.
