2. Rotation Issues
As some of you might know, Tom Thibodeau is not afraid to run his best player 40+ minutes per game if he has to. But there comes a point in time where he has to be smart with his players.
For instance, earlier in the year, he left R.J. Barrett on the floor when the game was already decided. Barrett ended up spraining his ankle in the final minute which was avoidable if he was not in the game.
Despite the New York Knicks falling short of expectations, they can still develop their young players throughout the season. But, Thibodeau has not done a good job of that either.
Mitchell Robinson, Immanuel Quickley, and Obi Toppin are some of the younger Knicks that could use more minutes in a lost season. These players along with R.J. Barrett are the future of the Knicks franchise and not allowing them to develop at the end of a lost season is criminal.
The journeyman coach is on his third head-coaching stint, but in New York, he continues to play his veterans an uncanny amount of time. The likes of Alec Burks and Taj Gibson have been Thibodeau’s go-to guys all year long.
