3. Lackluster Offense

The offensive production from New York this season has been abysmal. They rank 27th in the league in points per game with 106.5. Also, their offense is far too stagnant at times. They average 8.8 possessions of isolation per game, which is far too many for a team without an elite iso-scorer.

The New York Knicks are also a bad transition offense averaging just over 17 points per game via transition. With that little transition offense, they are forced to create in the half-court which has not been a strength for them throughout the season. At some point, Tom Thibodeau needs to change his ways and have a more creative offense.

Thibodeau has been around a while and had success in the league but he needs to adapt. He has to implement a faster style of offense with more screens to help guys get open. They rank fifth worse in the NBA with 3.2 plays per game off screens.

With teams like the Warriors, Suns, and Grizzlies in the top five in plays off screens, those teams at the top seem to make screens a clear formula to winning.
