Making the Case: Toronto Raptors
What is more important to the Toronto Raptors – Rudy Gobert’s inside presence or his offensive skill set?
Gobert is averaging 15.3 points and 14.7 rebounds per game this season to go along with 2.1 blocks. He would bring an explosive inside presence to a team that has been in need of one.
Offensively, Gobert does not have much to offer outside of a few feet. He is shooting 70.9% from the field with many points coming on dunks. On the other hand, there is something to be said about his ability to consistently dominate inside.
Gobert’s scoring has remained consistent over the last five years and he is on pace to finish with the second-highest total of his career. He does not get the ball much in the midst of the offense for the Jazz. The Raptors could find a way to explore any hidden moves that Gobert might not have had a chance to showcase.

The Raptors would be making this move in hopes of remaining in the postseason in the East. Gobert has plenty of experience against the top talent in the league in the Western Conference Playoffs. Utah has been unable to take the next step but the Raptors should not be shied away from this lack of success.
If Toronto is willing to take on this financial responsibility, Gobert would provide a presence on both ends that the team has been missing.
