Making the Case: Utah Jazz
The main intrigue for this trade is that the Utah Jazz can begin to head in a new direction. The duo of Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert has been unable to bring home that championship so it might be time for a change. Pair this with the tension between the two and it seems like the perfect time for a trade.
The Jazz remains a postseason team in the West but they have hit a recent slide. This is not where the team wants to be heading into the postseason. If a deal is made for Siakam, this would bring versatility on both ends that the team needs.
Gobert is as good as it gets around the rim but Siakam has the ability to guard multiple positions thanks to his agility and length.
Offensively, Siakam is scoring 22.4 points per game while shooting 35.6% from three-point range. His midrange game is strong and he can run in transition. This is the type of forward that would do well with Mitchell at the helm.

On the court, this is a good deal for Utah and it makes sense financially as well. They would be able to get rid of Gobert’s contract and clear some space. Siakam comes with a high price tag as well but the front office would still be able to clear room for more help coming off the bench.
The trade rumors surrounding Gobert have heated up in recent weeks during this losing streak. If there is an early exit in the postseason, Gobert could be on his way out of town.
