1. Charlotte Hornets
The Charlotte Hornets looked high and low ahead of the trade deadline for an upgrade in the middle. The team landed on Montrezl Harrell from the Washington Wizards, but he is set to become a free agent this summer, so their need will persist.
Brook Lopez would make for a logical target for the Hornets. He can provide an anchor defensively, something that they desperately need given their shortcomings on that end of the court. Lopez is a sizable upgrade on Mason Plumlee, the current starting center, who could move to the second unit and bolster the bench.
Putting Lopez in the middle with LaMelo Ball, Terry Rozier, Gordon Hayward and Miles Bridges around him would give the Hornets a formidable starting five to compete in the Eastern Conference.
Swapping Kelly Oubre Jr. for Lopez straight up is a deal that would work monetarily. If the Bucks wanted to add more to the deal along with Lopez, they could possibly land P.J. Washington in a package.
