3. Portland Trail Blazers

The Portland Trail Blazers cleaned house ahead of the NBA trade deadline. They made their plans for the future clear, as they wanted to create as much cap space as possible to rebuild the roster around Damian Lillard.

Armed with potentially multiple first-round draft picks and ample money to spend, Portland will be buyers this offseason. They reportedly have their eyes set on Jerami Grant of the Detroit Pistons, but he isn’t the only Central Division player they could have an interest in.

With Jusuf Nurkic entering free agency, the Trail Blazers could have a void at the center position. Brook Lopez would be a logical trade target, especially with the cap space that has been created.

Lopez would add another dimension to the Trail Blazers’ frontcourt as he is one of the better stretch-fives in the NBA. Given the strides he has made defensively as well, Lopez would help turn things around on that end of the court as well.

While he has turned into more of a floor spacer in recent seasons with the Bucks, Lopez has a diverse offensive game that could be put to use as a pick-and-roll partner for Lillard or in post-ups when games slow down in crunch time.
