2. LA Clippers
The LA Clippers aren’t going to be contending this season, but you can count on them being back next season when they are healthy. They began reshaping their roster ahead of this year’s trade deadline in preparation for the 2022-23 season.
The Clippers acquired Robert Covington and Norman Powell from the Portland Trail Blazers in a deadline deal. Covington is set to become a free agent, but Powell has four more seasons on his contract. He will likely be the new No. 3 option behind Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.
The next area of the roster that the Clippers could look to address is the frontcourt, namely the center position. Ivica Zubac has done a solid job, but the frontcourt lacks diversity in skill sets. Brook Lopez would provide the team with something they do not currently have in a floor-spacing big man.
Zubac nor Isiah Hartenstein, do damage outside the paint offensively. If the Clippers retain Covington, he has experience playing small-ball center and is a good 3-point shooter. Lopez has the size to bang with the bigger centers in the league that Covington doesn’t possess.

Given the potential need for a player on the wing in Milwaukee next season, a swap of Luke Kennard for Lopez could make sense for both sides.
