Extend Kevon Looney & Jordan Poole
For once, none of the Golden State Warriors’ superstars are going to be free agents, as Curry, Green, Thompson, and Wiggins are all under contract for next season, but the Warriors will once again have to deal with pending free agents on their roster.
Kevon Looney is going to be an unrestricted free agent in the offseason and Jordan Poole will be entering the final year of his rookie contract, making him extension eligible before becoming a restricted free agent in 2023.
This season with James Wiseman being out, Kevon Looney has started in all 72 of the Warriors’ games and has been one of the best “glue guys” in the entire league. He plays his role to perfection on this roster and while Looney may not be the best big man scorer or rebounder, he finds ways to positively affect the game for the Warriors.
When Kevon Looney is on the floor, good things happen for Golden State, which is why his value cannot really be matched by any other player on this roster. It may cost the Warriors a good amount of money, but keeping Looney around on a new three-year deal seems fair for both sides.

In regards to Jordan Poole, he will be the big question mark for the Warriors in the offseason because of how well he has played in his third season.
Averaging career-highs in points (17.6), rebounds (3.1), assists (3.7), and three-point shooting percentage (36.8), Poole has emerged as the “next best thing” in Golden State.
According to Connor Letourneau of the San Francisco Chronicle, the Warriors are expected to try and sign Jordan Poole to a multiyear extension in the offseason and some are speculating that this deal could pay the young guard as much as $20 million per season.

Adding another big contract to their payroll is the last thing a tax-paying team like the Golden State Warriors wants to do, but Jordan Poole is an essential part of their core that they must keep around not only to win another title in the coming years but in order to have long-term success in life after Steph, Klay and Draymond.
