The Miami Heat have been at the very top of the Eastern Conference standings all season long and they truly are a threat to go to the NBA Finals for the second-time in the last three seasons.

Led by their three All-Stars in Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo and Kyle Lowry, the Heat are one of the most dangerous two-way teams in the league this year, but this is not necessarily because of their superstar talents.

Bam Adebayo has missed 25 games this season, Jimmy Butler has missed 23 games, and Kyle Lowry has missed 17 games, yet the Heat are 47-25 on the year and have found ways to win without their All-Stars being on the floor.

Tyler Herro is going to be named the NBA’s Sixth-Man of the Year after the improvements he has made this season and Miami may have the most depth out of any team in this league.

Caleb Martin, Duncan Robinson, Gabe Vincent, Max Strus, Dewayne Dedmon, Omer Yurtseven and others have stepped up in the second-unit for the Heat this year and the one thing they all share in common is that all of these players went undrafted and had to earn their spot in the league.

Ranking 10th in offensive rating, 5th in defensive rating and 1st in bench points this season, the Miami Heat are making a very strong case for being the “team to beat” in the Eastern Conference this year and they could be gearing up to make a huge move in the offseason.

Team president Pat Riley is never content with what he has, which always leads to the Heat being in the conversation to land more All-Star talents. Their cap situation makes things difficult right now, but The Athletic’s Shams Charania recently wrote that the Heat is seen as a “legitimate suitor” for Bradley Beal should he choose to leave the Washington Wizards.

For years now, the Wizards have been looking to build themselves into a playoff threat in the Eastern Conference and Beal has remained loyal to the franchise.

However, the Washington Wizards have taken yet another step backward as a franchise this season and with Beal having a player option for the 2022-23 season, his status moving forward is definitely in question.

Already having a championship contending core, Beal could show a decent amount of interest in joining the Heat in the near future, which is going to lead to a ton of speculation about not only how Miami can make this acquisition work, but if they should even pursue the All-Star shooting guard given all the success they have had with their current roster.
