What Should The Miami Heat Do?
Should the opportunity present itself, it is hard to say that the Miami Heat should turn down the opportunity to pursue a player like Bradley Beal.
When healthy, Beal has proven that he is a Top-10 backcourt scorer in this league and paired with plenty of two-way talents in Miami, Bradley Beal would have everything that he would need in order to possibly win his first title in his career.
Not only does the Miami Heat’s situation please that of Beal and his camp, but the Heat should be more than willing to find a way to bring in the Washington Wizards’ superstar simply because of how stacked the Eastern Conference is.
Financially though, this acquisition could be crippling to the Heat for many years to come, as there are many unknowns that come with evaluating Bradley Beal’s contract situation now.
LATEST NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Bradley Beal’s Current Stance On Wizards Future Ahead Of Offseason
By waiting until the offseason and not taking a four-year, $181.5 million extension from Washington this season, Beal can make upwards of $240 million on a new five-year, veteran max contract with Washington.
A sign-and-trade with this type of deal is possible, but highly unlikely given the cap implications and hard-cap that comes with a sign-and-trade deal in the NBA.
Miami would be smart to pursue Bradley Beal as an All-Star-level talent to add to their championship puzzle, but Pat Riley and this front-office would have to make sure they can get the numbers monetarily to balance out, as right now based off of projections, it does not seem like they can do.
