Los Angeles Lakers
At the end of the day, the team that makes the most in terms of pursuing Eric Gordon is the Los Angeles Lakers. Not only do they need more talent, but the Lakers held extensive trade talks with the Rockets recently ahead of the trade deadline revolving around John Wall.
According to Yahoo’s Chris Haynes, the Rockets and Lakers did hold trade discussions ahead of the deadline centered around a trade that would involve John Wall and Russell Westbrook, again, but the Rockets turned down the Lakers offer due to Los Angeles not willing to include a draft pick.
Revisiting these discussions in the offseason, the Lakers may not only look to move Russell Westbrook, but they could also be willing to move a first-round pick, Kendrick Nunn and Talen Horton-Tucker in a deal for both John Wall and Eric Gordon.
This would be the perfect deal for Los Angeles simply because of the fact that they would dump Westbrook’s contract, get a former All-Star guard in John Wall and improve their depth on the perimeter with Eric Gordon.

The Los Angeles Lakers have doomed themselves financially by acquiring Russell Westbrook last offseason and the best way that they can fix things is by acquiring two players in Wall and Gordon who would not take up cap space past the 2022-23 season.
Wall’s contract is expiring at the conclusion of next year and Eric Gordon can be waived with no repercussions due to the fact that his contract is non-guaranteed.
