Atlanta Hawks
Just several months after reaching the Eastern Conference Finals, the Atlanta Hawks find themselves searching for answers on how to get back to where they were last season.
Trae Young has been the only reliable offensive threat for the Hawks and while they definitely have key talents in Bogdan Bogdanovic, John Collins, Danilo Gallinari, Kevin Huerter and others, this team just has not found success on the floor this season.
In order for the Hawks to be a contending threat in the East, especially with how talented most teams in the conference are now, they are going to have to be willing to take risks on players that can help them win right now.
Eric Gordon’s contract is a lot and he is not an All-Star-level player, but Gordon can provide consistency to a team that has some very streaky scorers.

Not to mention, the Atlanta Hawks have really struggled defensively this season and Eric Gordon has always been known to be an impactful two-way player on the perimeter.
His experiences and ability to spread the floor with his three-point shooting is what makes Eric Gordon an intriguing player for the Atlanta Hawks to target.
Leading up to the trade deadline, there were discussions about the Hawks possibly looking to move Danilo Gallinari and they could do so in a move for Eric Gordon in the offseason.

Gallinari is set to make more than Gordon next season and with the Rockets rebuilding, they could be willing to take on Danilo Gallinari’s expiring contract or just possibly flip him for more future assets.
Sending Gallinari and a future first-round pick to Houston for Eric Gordon could definitely get a trade done, but the question that remains is if the Atlanta Hawks would be willing to part with said assets for a highly paid veteran.
