Phoenix Suns
For months leading up to the trade deadline, there was a belief around the league that the Phoenix Suns were going to trade for an experienced shooter to improve their depth on the perimeter and that player was expected to be Eric Gordon.
However, they did not make a move for Gordon at the trade deadline and instead, Phoenix went after Torrey Craig and Aaron Holiday, two lesser contracts to fill two spots on their bench.
Entering the offseason, the Phoenix Suns could very well be NBA champions and they will have to deal with the pending contract situations of Deandre Ayton and Cam Johnson.
Ayton is set to become a restricted free agent after failing to negotiate a new long-term deal with Phoenix and Johnson is going to be entering the final year of his rookie contract, making him eligible for extension.

Figuring out what to do with Ayton and Johnson is obviously priority number one and two for the Suns this offseason, but adding more depth and more scoring is always something they will consider doing.
Phoenix will likely wind up being a tax-paying team whether or not they make a move for Eric Gordon, but they could actually get a deal done for him by including Dario Saric and Landry Shamet in a deal for him, as the two current Suns players combine to make $18.7 million next season.
Already having past interest in Eric Gordon, it would not be surprising to see the Phoenix Suns finally make a move on the veteran either in the offseason or closer to the 2023 NBA trade deadline.
