Minnesota Timberwolves

For years now, the Minnesota Timberwolves have not been taken seriously in the Western Conference simply because they have had just two winning seasons since 2005, including just one trip to the playoffs.

Well, this narrative is quickly beginning to change, as the Timberwolves have completely redefined the culture within their organization and they have a re-energized fanbase that makes Minnesota one of the best home court advantages in the NBA.

Their 22-12 home record this season may be middle-of-the-pack in the NBA this season, but no team is wanting to go Minnesota and have to face the Minnesota Timberwolves in a seven-game series simply because of how athletic they are and how physical they play.

Karl-Anthony Towns, Anthony Edwards and D’Angelo Russell are one of the best scoring trios in the league, Patrick Beverley is still one of the best on-ball defenders in the league and the Timberwolves possess the potential to be one of the better rebounding teams in the league with Jaden McDaniels and Jarred Vanderbilt being two complimentary big men next to Towns.

Currently 39-30 on the year, the Minnesota Timberwolves are just 1.5 games back from the Nuggets for the 6-seed in the Western Conference and no matter where they end up in the standings, this is a team that will be a threat to pull off an upset in the first-round of the playoffs.

Their three All-Star-like talents are as good as anyone else’s in this league and Minnesota sort of plays with a chip on their shoulder, as mostly everyone on their roster has been overlooked at times in their career.

Not getting the respect they deserve, theMinnesota Timberwolves are a dangerous offensive team that can cause a lot of headaches for opposing teams, especially given how loud Target Center can get when their team is on a scoring run!

I do not believe Minnesota will win a playoff series this year, but the Timberwolves could absolutely stretch a first-round series into six or seven games, giving their opponents everything they have since they really have nothing to lose and only something to prove.
