Surround Beal And Porzingis With Three-Point Shooting Threats

At the end of the day, whatever the Wizards decide to do in the offseason, they better address their need for three-point shooters on the wing.

Washington ranks 25th in the league this season in three-point shooting as a team and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is the only player on their team shooting above 35% from deep on the year, a minimum of 100 attempts.

Bradley Beal, Kristaps Porzingis, and Kyle Kuzma are all strong offensive players, but the NBA has shifted recently to putting more awareness on benches and secondary talents.

Having depth is extremely important in today’s NBA and right now, the Wizards have virtually no depth and no reliable scoring talent, particularly on the perimeter, on their bench.

Deni Avdija, Corey Kispert and Rui Hachimura are all young talents showing promise, but the Wizards must try to find some veteran, experienced players that can contribute in terms of three-point shooting who are willing to take small contracts in free agency.

Gary Harris, Bryn Forbes, Wayne Ellington, Rodney Hood, and Danuel House Jr. are all going to be free agents this upcoming offseason, and all of these players are more than capable of being three-point shooting threats off the bench.

As long as they have no three-point shooting threats, the Wizards will not be a true threat in the Eastern Conference, which is why building their roster around Porzingis and Beal starts with adding a reliable bench.
