Bradley Beal is one of the best offensive players in the NBA and at 28-years-old, he is in the prime of his career. Spending all 10 seasons of his career so far with the Washington Wizards, Beal has been nothing but loyal to the team that took him 3rd overall in 2012.
However, the Wizards have been a franchise in shambles for quite some time now, as they have never been able to find consistency from one season to the next. Since drafting Bradley Beal, the Wizards have made the playoffs on five different occasions, but they have not advanced past the Eastern Conference Semifinals and have made the playoffs just once since 2018.
Every single season, solid players come and go from Washington’s roster, leaving them in what seems like an endless cycle of trying to “re-tool” and “rebuild” their roster.
Now, after trading for Kristaps Porzingis at the trade deadline this season, the Wizards will have another chance to build around Beal long-term, but what they have right now does not seem like enough to be competitive in the Eastern Conference.

This season, the Eastern Conference took a massive leap forward and there are several championship-contending teams in the conference now, making it tough for a team like the Wizards to break through and make the playoffs.
Currently two games back from a play-in tournament spot and with Beal being out for the year due to wrist surgery, it is hard to imagine that Washington will be able to make the playoffs this season.
The Wizards are not necessarily a bad team, but they lack firepower offensively right now and their system is not much more than some isolation sets and cutting actions from the perimeter.

Kyle Kuzma has stepped up this season and Kristaps Porzingis looked solid in his team debut the other night, but finding more talent to add to their roster in the offseason will be essential.
Figuring out things long-term in the offseason will be the main goal of the Washington Wizards, which is why they could consider one of the following moves/thoughts to build around Bradley Beal and Kristaps Porzingis in the offseason.
