Go After Hawks’ John Collins
While he just signed a five-year, $125 million contract with the Atlanta Hawks this past offseason, John Collins seems to be a developing story in Atlanta.
After making it to the Eastern Conference Finals last season, the Hawks currently sit at 29-32 this season, barely holding onto a play-in tournament spot. The Hawks have taken a major step backward over the course of the 2021-22 season and frustrations have seemed to set in for their young power forward.
According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, John Collins has grown “increasingly frustrated over his role in Atlanta” and the Hawks did receive interest for Collins from some teams around the league-leading up to the trade deadline.
The 76ers were a team rumored to be interested in Collins amidst the Hawks’ interest in Ben Simmons ahead of the deadline, so Philadelphia could renew their interest in John Collins in the offseason.

Should Atlanta be willing to give John Collins up, they will want to try and get back some “win-now” pieces around Trae Young to still remain relevant. Taking back Tobias Harris’ contract is not favorable for them, but he would be a solid No. 2 scoring option in a system that has a primary facilitator already at hand in Young.
Not to mention, Bogdan Bogdanovic and Danilo Gallinari are also candidates to be on the move, opening up an immediate roster spot for a secondary scorer like Tobias Harris in Atlanta.
