Top Offseason Options For Sixers To Dump Tobias Harris

Tobias Harris, Philadelphia 76ers, NBA Trade Rumors
NBA Analysis Network

The Philadelphia 76ers have been in the headlines and the news quite a bit this NBA season. Not only did they have to deal with all the drama with Ben Simmons from this past offseason, but they made the biggest trade at the trade deadline this year sending Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, Andre Drummond, and some draft picks to the Brooklyn Nets for James Harden and Paul Millsap.

All year long, the 76ers did not give in to any other team’s demands in trade talks for Simmons, as they knew that they could hold out long enough to get the All-Star talent that they wanted.

James Harden was high on Daryl Morey’s “wish list” given his relationship with the All-Star back in Houston and the 76ers were able to pair the former league-MVP with Joel Embiid, who could very well win the MVP award this season.

Now, with two All-Star and MVP-like talents, the 76ers have their sights set on the NBA Finals this season. However, regardless of the outcome of this season, the Philadelphia 76ers will be busy in the offseason.

Not only will they have to figure out their long-term plans with James Harden, but the 76ers are expected to be open to the idea of trading Tobias Harris.

Since joining the Philadelphia 76ers during the 2018-19 season, Tobias Harris has been a key offensive weapon for this team. In 212 regular-season games for the Sixers, Harris has averaged 19.1 points, 7.0 rebounds and has shot 48.4% from the floor.

Consistency has been a problem for Tobias Harris in past years, but overall, he has proven to be an effective weapon for them on the offensive end of the floor. The problem with trying to trade Harris right now though is the fact that there is not much interest in him league-wide.

Not many teams in the league will want to take on this kind of contract for a non-All-Star talent, so can the 76ers actually move Harris in the near future?

Let’s take a look at some of the better options for the Philadelphia 76ers to pursue this offseason in an attempt to dump Tobias Harris’ contract.
