Injury Concerns May Have Lowered Trade Value
The injury concerns surrounding Malcolm Brogdon have persisted throughout the 2021-22 season. He’s returned to the lineup recently after missing 15 consecutive games and has missed more games (32) than he’s played in (29) so far, but that should change soon.
There was a real chance the Pacers would have moved Brogdon before the NBA trade deadline had he not been ineligible to be moved due to signing his contract extension before the start of the regular seaosn.
In the offseason, Brogdon will once again be eligible to be moved in a trade. With him being signed through the 2024-25 season making over $22.5 million in three of those seasons, and potentially having overlap with Tyrese Haliburton, he’s a real candidate to be moved.
The New York Knicks could take a chance on a trade for Brogdon while his trade value is being impacted by the injury concerns and his contract status.

The Knicks have some players like Kemba Walker and Taj Gibson who will be on expiring deals next season that could perhaps be included for salary matching purposes coupled with some draft capital.
