Boston Celtics

Brad Stevens seems to be enjoying himself in Boston’s front office this season, as the former Boston Celtics coach has been wheeling-and-deal in trades ever since the offseason!

The Celtics remained busy at the trade deadline, trading away Josh Richardson, Dennis Schroder, Romeo Langford, Enes Freedom, Bruno Fernando, Romeo Langford, Bol Bol, P.J. Dozier, a second-round pick, a first-round pick, and a first-round pick swap for Derrick White, Daniel Theis, and a future second-round pick.

Now, the Celtics have five open roster spots that they will need to utilize, but they have already seemed to fill two of them.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Boston Celtics are planning on signing Sam Hauser and Luke Kornet to deals for the rest of the season, leaving Boston with three open roster spots to fill ahead of the playoffs.

LATEST NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Goran Dragic To Receive Buyout; Mavs Likely Landing Spot

The Boston Celtics’ bench has been weak for years now and their need for talent in the backcourt is a given now that Dennis Schroder is in Houston.

Goran Dragic can extend the floor as a three-point shooting threat, he can be relied upon with the ball in his hands, and most importantly, he has experience playing next to an All-Star wing in Jimmy Butler when he was with the Miami Heat.

Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are the Boston Celtics’ two All-Stars on the wing, so bringing in Dragic would be a really solid move for this organization to make, especially since Marcus Smart is not really a true, facilitating point guard.

Dragic would know his role as being a secondary playmaker for the Celtics and the depth he would provide could very well be exactly what Boston need to actually claim a playoff spot this season and not have to earn their spot via the play-in tournament.

Boston has open roster spots and a  need in their backcourt, which is why Goran Dragic makes a lot of sense for them.
