The Los Angeles Lakers need a lot of help as we head toward the 2022 NBA Trade Deadline. The team is currently 26-28 on the season and in ninth place in the Western Conference.
They are lucky the conference as a whole is having a down year, as they are still five games clear of the Portland Trail Blazers, the first team on the outside looking in of the NBA Play-In Tournament.
So, despite their level of play, there is a good chance that the Lakers make at least the Play-In Tournament, if not the top-six. They are closer to the Denver Nuggets, who are only three games ahead in sixth place, than the 11th place Trail Blazers.
Committed to winning now, Los Angeles will do whatever they can to build the roster up ahead of the deadline and make a run to the postseason.

LeBron James, when healthy, has proven to still be a dominant force, but this roster is mismatched and hasn’t clicked as well as they had hoped.
James being in and out of the lineup is a big reason for that. But the acquisition of Russell Westbrook is what has really put the Lakers behind the eight-ball. While his statistics aren’t too bad, Westbrook’s style of play has not meshed well.

One player that could be readily available at a price the Los Angeles Lakers can afford is Justin Holiday of the Indiana Pacers. What could it take to land Holiday? Let’s take a look at this hypothetical deal that sends him to Los Angeles.
