Los Angeles Lakers Receive: G/F Justin Holiday
Indiana Pacers Receive: G Kent Bazemore, C DeAndre Jordan, 2023 Second-Round Pick, 2025 Second-Round Pick
This trade between the Los Angeles Lakers and Indiana Pacers was put together by Greg Swartz over at Bleacher Report. He put together one trade idea for each team ahead of the deadline, and this one was made from the Lakers’ perspective.
Indiana is on the path to completing a mini-rebuild and retool of the roster. They already traded Caris LeVert to the Cleveland Cavaliers, while Myles Turner and Domantas Sabonis are both involved in trade talks as well. Now, they are trading another veteran in Justin Holiday.
Holiday is heading to the Lakers, but the team has to do their due diligence before signing off on this one. Holiday remains unvaccinated, so it is a risk acquiring him as he could be in protocols again. But, Crypto.com Arena, where they play their home games, isn’t under the same set of rules as the city of Los Angeles so he would be eligible to play.
The Pacers are reportedly looking for two second-round picks to part ways with Holiday and they get their wish from the Lakers with second-rounders in 2023 and 2025. Kent Bazemore and DeAndre Jordan are included to match salary, as the Lakers do not have a trade exemption big enough to absorb Holiday alone.

Bazemore and Jordan are not part of the regular rotation for the Lakers and could find themselves as free agents with Indiana looking like a team ready to play the young guys.
