How This Trade Impacts Philadelphia 76ers
Based on everything we have heard involving the Philadelphia 76ers, this isn’t a trade with a high likelihood of getting done. They have made it clear what their asking price for Ben Simmons is and has shown no willingness to budge.
However, it would be hard to imagine the 76ers punting on a chance to upgrade the roster when they are seemingly so close to contending this season. With Joel Embiid playing at an MVP level, the time to make a deal is now even if this package only includes good role players.
Philadelphia’s depth would be unrivaled by anyone in the NBA if they accepted a trade like this. Their backup point guard role would be filled by Spencer Dinwiddie. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope knows what it takes to win a championship and provides another 3-and-D player that fits perfectly into the wing rotation.
Deni Avdija has immense upside and is already a rotation worthy defender with blossoming offensive skills. Corey Kispert is another sniper that would open the court up for the frontcourt players to get to work.
