Washington Wizards Receive: G Ben Simmons, C Charles Bassey, F Paul Reed

This hypothetical trade package was put together by Greg Swartz over at Bleacher Report. He made one deal for every team in the NBA to consider. This deal between the Philadelphia 76ers and Washington Wizards was made from the 76ers’ perspective.

This deal would shake the NBA up as the Ben Simmons saga has dominated headlines since last summer. There would likely be another contender in the Eastern Conference following this deal as the Wizards would have one of the best backcourts in the NBA.

Simmons and Bradley Beal would be a great fit alongside each other. Given how much depth the team has, consolidating to make a run at Simmons makes sense. To acquire him, the price is steep.

There isn’t an All-Star involved given Bradley Beal would be staying put, but the 76ers are getting quite a haul. Spencer Dinwiddie provides some insurance in the backcourt, as the team has little point guard depth. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope provides championship experience as a 3-and-D player and could make Danny Green expendable should another deal come along.

Deni Avdija and Corey Kispert were first-round picks in 2020 and 2021. They can bolster a trade package, along with the 2022 and 2024 first-round picks, if the 76ers choose to go star chasing in the offseason.

How does this deal impact each team? Let’s take a look at it from both of their perspectives, starting with the 76ers.
