Does this trade make sense for the Boston Celtics?

In no way does trading Jaylen Brown to any team this season make any sense for the Celtics. They could be getting five first-round picks for him and the trade will still not make sense because of how good Jaylen Brown is now and all the potential he still possesses.

The duo of Brown and Tatum has been questioned from time-to-time, but the two young All-Stars have played terrific with one another this season and they are not the problem on Boston’s roster.

This team simply lacks secondary talent right now and it does appear that Boston is getting ready to make some changes at the trade deadline.

Having multiple trade exceptions and there being the possibility of trading Dennis Schroder and Josh Richardson, the Celtics will have plenty of opportunities to add talent over the next two weeks.

The Boston Celtics are fighting with the Hawks for playoff position and a playoff spot right now in the standings and management has said multiple times that they would like to build around Tatum and Brown long-term.

There is nothing about this trade that would be appealing to the Celtics and aside from giving up one of their best assets in Jaylen Brown, the Celtics would be forced to dip even further into luxury taxes this season, making this trade terrible for them and their season outlook.
