The Boston Celtics have made the playoffs each of the last seven seasons, reaching the Eastern Conference Finals three separate times in this time span, but they have been a very underwhelming team in the NBA this season.
Currently, the Celtics sit at 26-25 on the season, which is good enough for the 9-seed in the Eastern Conference. Boston is just 2 games in front of the Washington Wizards, who are the 11-seed in the East right now, and their chances of earning a playoff spot are in doubt given that they are seeded in the play-in tournament range right now.
Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown have been two key talents for the Celtics once again, but outside of their two All-Stars on the wing, finding production from Boston has been rough.
Their bench ranks just 28th in the league in scoring and having various trade exceptions leading up to the trade deadline, the Celtics could be very aggressive in trade talks over the next two weeks.

Trading Dennis Schroder, Marcus Smart, Al Horford and/or Josh Richardson are all possibilities this season, but could the Celtics possibly field offers for Jaylen Brown as well?
It does not appear that this will be the case for Boston this season, as Bleacher Report’s Jake Fischer wrote in December, it is “highly unlikely” Boston will entertain the idea of trading Jaylen Brown this season, but anything is possible leading up to the trade deadline.
The Celtics have struggled in the Eastern Conference this season and so have the Atlanta Hawks, who are coming off a magical run to the Eastern Conference Finals not too long ago.

As crazy as it sounds, let’s take a look at a hypothetical trade package involving the Atlanta Hawks and Boston Celtics that would send Jaylen Brown to Atlanta, courtesy of Bleacher Report’s Grant Hughes.
