Atlanta Hawks Receive: G/F Jaylen Brown
Boston Celtics Receive: F De’Andre Hunter, G/F Kevin Huerter, G Bogdan Bogdanovic, CHA 2022 1st Round Pick (Top-18 Protected, via ATL), ATL 2023 1st Round Pick (Unprotected)

Any trade proposal that the Atlanta Hawks would offer the Celtics for Jaylen Brown would most definitely include John Collins, but this trade proposal gives Boston the one thing they are missing right now – key secondary talents.

As mentioned before, Boston’s bench is one of the worst in the league and has directly impacted their inconsistent play and losses this season. Trading Jaylen Brown certainly does not make the Celtics a better team, but it could very well provide them with the necessary depth that they need across the board.

At 24-years-old, De’Andre Hunter still has another year left on his rookie contract and is starting to turn himself into one of the better, younger two-way wings in the league. Kevin Huerter recently signed a long-term deal with the Hawks this past offseason and Bogdan Bogdanovic is under contract through 2023-24, assuming he opts into his final year player option.

Both Huerter and Bogdanovic are key three-point shooting threats on the wing and with the Celtics ranking 23rd in the league in three-point shooting percentage, they could absolutely prove useful both in and out of the starting rotation.

In addition to three key talents, Boston would also be getting two first-round picks over the course of the next two NBA Drafts, giving them more opportunities to build a young, sustainable core around Jayson Tatum.

Right now, the Celtics are over the tax line for the season and they are going to be looking for ways to move under it. Trading Dennis Schroder seems like the most logical way to maneuver around paying taxes this season, but this trade would push them even farther over the tax line on the year, something that could push Boston away.

The Atlanta Hawks just need more overall talent right now and most importantly, they need another star next to Trae Young. One All-Star cannot carry a team in this league anymore and we are starting to see more and more championship contenders through the years have at least two All-Stars on their roster.

Growing up just 30 minutes north of Atlanta in Marietta, Jaylen Brown could have a lot of interest in possibly returning home to play for the Hawks.

Exploring this trade is definitely something the Hawks should do, but it is hard to imagine that Boston would ever consider making this trade.
