Does this trade make sense for the Washington Wizards?

Spencer Dinwiddie, Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Montrezl Harrell have all been solid secondary talents for the Wizards this season, but Bradley Beal really is their only main contributor.

Without Beal on the floor, the Wizards offense tends to struggle and they could really use another “go-to” player, especially in the frontcourt.

Rui Hachimura, Corey Kispert and Thomas Bryant are all promising looking young talents that could absolutely contribute down the line for this team, but none of these three players present a path to winning right now, which is key for the Wizards.

Christian Wood is one of the most sought after trade deadline targets this season and if the Wizards can acquire him, even if they only keep him through next season, this move would open up the doors to add other high-level talents and possibly another All-Star to pair with Bradley Beal long-term.

Washington is in a tough spot as a franchise right now, especially given that Bradley Beal leaving could result in them becoming the worst team in the NBA, but going out and adding talent at the trade deadline can reassure everyone that the Wizards are not giving up just yet.
