Washington Wizards Receive: F/C Christain Wood
Houston Rockets Receive: F Rui Hachimura, F Corey Kispert, C Thomas Bryant
The Washington Wizards are in a tough position as a franchise because while they are still growing, time is quickly running out for them to try and make something of this season. Tuesday night’s loss to the Clippers after leading by as many as 35 points should send a clear message to the Wizards’ front-office that they desperately need to make a move to remain relevant.
Being a 6’10” forward/center, Christian Wood can do a lot of different things for a team like the Wizards and be that No. 2 option for Bradley Beal to lean on for extra support.
It seems like every few years, Washington looks to rebuild with Beal as the face of their franchise, but how much longer is the All-Star shooting guard willing to put up with this?
Soon to be up for a contract extension and possibly becoming a free agent, the Wizards really need to try and appease Bradley Beal if he is to stay long-term.

Going out and trading for a guy like Christian Wood could really change the dynamic of this team in a good way and give Beal a reason to want to remain a part of the Wizards franchise.
After trading James Harden last season, the Houston Rockets entered “rebuild mode” and they have done a good job at putting some future pieces together.
Wood has been a big part of their rebuild thus far, but with him set to be a free agent after next season and drawing a lot of trade interest right now, it seems reasonable to believe that Houston will look to move him at the trade deadline this season.

Given their cap situation with John Wall’s and Eric Gordon’s contracts, as well as having to extend the contracts of some of their young guys moving forward, the Rockets may not ultimately be able to keep Christian Wood past next season, which is why trading him while his value is at an all-time high could make a lot of sense for them.
Rui Hachimura, Corey Kispert and Thomas Bryant are all young players that could wind up having big roles in the Rockets’ rebuild and acquiring young talents is what Houston should be looking to do at the moment.
