Does this trade make sense for the Houston Rockets?

While keeping Christian Wood and continuing to build with him makes the most sense for the Houston Rockets, they really need to evaluate their future and realize that keeping him long-term is going to be tough.

Christian Wood’s three-year deal that he signed last season has quickly turned into one of the most undervalued deals in the entire league and with some teams preparing to offer him a massive raise when he becomes a free agent next year, the Rockets are going to have a hard time retaining their big man.

Trading Wood while his value is at an all-time high makes sense not only so the Rockets do not miss out on value, but so they can add some very unique and promising young talents to their roster.

Rui Hachimura, Corey Kispert and Thomas Bryant all fill needs this team has and with them all being on small, rookie-like contracts, the Rockets would not have to worry about running into a long-term cap space problem.
