Jerami Grant – Detroit Pistons
The player drawing the most traction in trade talks and rumors right now is Pistons’ forward Jerami Grant. While he has not played since early December due to surgery to repair the UCL ligament in his right thumb, Grant has drawn trade interest from several playoff and championship-caliber teams across the league.
After signing a three-year, $60M deal with Detroit last season, Jerami Grant busted onto the scene as a terrific standalone talent. In 54 games with the Pistons last season, the 27-year-old combo-forward averaged 22.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, and shot 42.9% from the floor, making him one of the breakout stars of last season.
In 24 games so far this season, Jerami Grant has continued to be a high-level scorer and a very versatile defender either on the wing or in the low-post. Shams Charania has mentioned the Wizards, Knicks, Blazers, and Lakers as four teams to have shown interest in trading for Jerami Grant, but the list of teams interested is much greater.
Bleacher Report’s Eric Pincus has mentioned the Atlanta Hawks as being a possible team interested in Jerami Grant and other teams in the Bulls, Celtics, and Mavericks have been mentioned at times as interested in him.
