Robert Covington – Portland Trail Blazers
With Damian Lillard being out indefinitely after undergoing surgery for an abdominal injury and the Portland Trail Blazers being 18-26 on the season, it seems very likely that the Blazers will look to be “sellers” at the trade deadline this season.
Trade talks and rumors revolving around Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum have seemed to go away for now, but Robert Covington is starting to draw a fair amount of trade interest, especially after his recent performances.
With a handful of players being out in Portland due to injuries, Robert Covington has had to step into a larger role. Since the start of January, Covington has played in 10 games for the Trail Blazers and has averaged 10.8 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.1 steals, 1.4 blocks and has shot 43.1% from three-point range.
His whole career, Robert Covington has been known to be a “3-and-D” player on the wing, but given his versatility to guard numerous positions and his length, Covington has been utilized as a small forward, a power forward, and a center in some smaller rotations.
