Does this trade make sense for the Minnesota Timberwolves?
Obviously flipping Malik Beasley and a first-round pick for Jerami Grant would be ideal for the Minnesota Timberwolves, but there is no way that they can get this deal to happen.
Detroit Pistons GM Troy Weaver is a very smart executive in this league and to think that he is going to get pushed over into trading Jerami Grant for nothing is just nonsense!
Pairing Jerami Grant with Towns, Edwards and Russell would be ideal, but the Timberwolves just simply do not have the assets to add another high-level talent to their roster unless they are willing to part ways with D’Angelo Russell.
This is something Minnesota has been unwilling to do this season and quite honestly, they really do not have the resources nor assets to make a big trade at the trade deadline.

Leveraging Malik Beasley and a salary-filler like Taurean Prince is certainly a possibility, but expectations for whom the Timberwolves will target should be lower. This team is well constructed right now, they just need a little bit more scoring talent in their second-unit.
Maybe veterans like Terrence Ross and Eric Gordon can make a big difference for this Timberwolves team at a much cheaper price, but Jerami Grant going to Minnesota is a long-shot at this point.
