Does this trade make sense for the Detroit Pistons?

The closer we get to the trade deadline, the more it appears that the Detroit Pistons will deal Jerami Grant away, but there are no indications that the team is ready to part ways with him. Detroit could easily turn around and wind up keeping Jerami Grant should they not get the right amount of value they want in return.

This “value” is unknown at this time, but it is hard to imagine that the Pistons would want to take on the contract of Danilo Gallinari. He really presents nothing to this rebuilding franchise and he would be yet another possible “dead cap” player that they would bring in.

After buying out Blake Griffin last season and DeAndre Jordan earlier this year, the Pistons may want to stay away from buying out another player like Gallinari, who they would owe close to $20M to.

Cam Reddish could fit in nicely on the wing in Detroit, but other than him and a possible end of the first-round pick, what do the Pistons really get for their best player?

LATEST NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Knicks, Lakers Among Trade Suitors Linked To Pistons’ Jerami Grant

Multiple teams across the NBA are beginning to line up to offer their best trade package for Jerami Grant this season, so they should not be quick to finalize a deal. Detroit is going to draw this process out right up to 3 p.m. EST on February 10 and we may not get news of a potential deal until after the deadline has passed due to paperwork being filed.

It is definitely logical to believe Jerami Grant will be on the move, but the Atlanta Hawks really do not have much to offer the Pistons in return.
