3. Jerami Grant to Utah Jazz

There likely isn’t going to be a ton of big moves ahead of the 2022 NBA trade deadline. The biggest name on the move could be Jerami Grant of the Detroit Pistons.

Grant is someone that numerous contenders have been making calls on. He has experience as an elite role player and showed with the Pistons he can handle a go-to role. That kind of versatility is something contenders would love to add to their roster as he can fill virtually any role.

The team that could see the biggest boost from landing Grant is the Utah Jazz. Utah is in the market for an upgrade in their starting five, specifically on the wing. They need someone that can come in and help set the tone defensively, which Grant could do.

The Jazz has also struggled in the past when they are forced to go small. Rudy Gobert is picked apart but they are lacking other options to turn to. Grant would help alleviate that issue as someone that can play the frontcourt in a small-ball lineup.

Utah has been a dominant team in the regular season but has not found the same success in the postseason. Landing a player of Grant’s caliber could help them achieve the playoff success that has eluded them.
