This Mavs-Pistons Trade Features Jerami Grant To Dallas

Jerami Grant, Dallas Mavericks, NBA Trade Rumors
NBA Analysis Network

The Dallas Mavericks should have one goal in mind for the future – put Luka Doncic in the best possible position to win an NBA championship. So far this season, it doesn’t look like they’ve done that.

Doncic is only 22 years old, so they have plenty of time, but with how talented he is, they should be trying to maximize every season they have with him. Right now, the team they put around him isn’t quite at the level it needs to be to seriously compete for a title.

Some suggested trading away Kristaps Porzingis this offseason, but he’s actually looked good this season. He’s averaging up around 20 points a night and, although his three-point percentage is way down, he’s been improving throughout the season.

The real issue at hand is that there isn’t enough talent on the roster past those two players.

Tim Hardaway Jr. was supposed to be that third guy, but he’s been disappointing since getting his contract extension this offseason. Dallas needs to add another big-time piece. This is where the Detroit Pistons come into play. They’ve been bad this season and could look to be sellers at the NBA trade deadline.

One player comes to mind when bringing up that idea – Jerami Grant. What would a Grant trade to the Dallas Mavericks look like?
