Does this trade make sense for the Utah Jazz?

Of course, trading Bojan Bogdanovic for Jerami Grant would make sense for the Utah Jazz, but it is just not realistic for this franchise. They have no draft assets they can leverage over the years and with not many young, promising talents, the Pistons would not be interested in this trade.

The Jazz are definitely expected to be active ahead of the NBA trade deadline though and Bojan Bogdanovic is definitely a name to keep an eye on in trade talks. He is nothing more than a secondary scorer for this team and moving him for a younger, more explosive scorer could really prove beneficial next to Donovan Mitchell.

Being one of the most electric scorers in the league right now, Mitchell is the face of the Utah Jazz, but he does not really have another explosive scorer next to him.

Jordan Clarkson is a spark off-the-bench and guys like Conley, Ingles and Bogdanovic provide solid scorer outputs next to him, but what is standing in the way of this team being a real title threat is having that second, elite-level scorer.

With Bojan Bogdanovic making $18.5M this season, he could match another high-level talents’ salary and maybe the Jazz could package him with some other assets involved in this offer to the Pistons to go after someone else.

Who that player would be is a mystery, but there are some other, more affordable options than Jerami Grant available for the Jazz to try and add ahead of the NBA trade deadline. It seems unrealistic to expect a drastic change to this roster like a trade involving Bojan Bogdanovic, but the Jazz do have a real interest in adding some more talent on the wing this season.
