The Los Angeles Lakers have high aspirations for the team they have built, and rightfully so. Any team with LeBron James is considered a title contender and having two other NBA superstars like Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook brought great excitement.
After 35 regular season games played, the Lakers find themselves holding a 17-18 record and ranking seventh in the Western Conference standings. It took getting a win against the Houston Rockets team to snap a five-game losing streak, too.
As the NBA trade deadline continues to approach, there are many questions about what the Lakers should consider doing to get the team where it needs to be around LeBron James.
There’s been much attention placed on Russell Westbrook, who has experienced his fair share of blooper reel worthy plays and inefficient results. Others feel as though moving Anthony Davis should be talked about more as a potential option.

Davis, who is averaging 23.3 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks on the season, has caught some flack at times for the steep decline in his jump shooting execution. With his preference being to play power forward, he is not shooting the basketball nearly well enough to do so.
The Lakers started DeAndre Jordan for 18 games at center so Davis could play the power forward position. Having the paint be additionally clogged with Jordan playing next to Davis when having LeBron James and Russell Westbrook are trying to get downhill makes little sense.
LATEST NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Could Anthony Davis Eventually Be Traded By Los Angeles Lakers?
The concerns that may be justified to have about Anthony Davis are far from grounds to be traded, however. That’s why the Lakers have not yet discussed this option. Regardless, the Lakers need to figure out a way to bolster their supporting cast in a hurry.
With Russell Westbrook having seemingly little to no trade value and most of their draft assets being depleted from the trade to land Davis, there doesn’t appear to be a clean way out at this point.
Let’s take a look at an NBA trade scenario featuring Anthony Davis being sent from the Los Angeles Lakers to the Sacramento Kings.
