2. Boston Celtics
The Boston Celtics have been a tough team to get a read on all season. They have an excellent foundation with two young All-Stars in Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. Yet, they are one of the most inconsistent teams in the NBA thus far this season.
On any given night the Boston Celtics look like a team ready to rise to the top of the Eastern Conference, blowing someone out. Then in the next game, they are lacking attention to detail and effort and get blown out themselves. It hasn’t been an ideal rookie season for Ime Udoka as head coach, but there is a chance to turn things around.
Getting some more consistent, two-way players would help them and Harrison Barnes would be a perfect target for them. The power forward spot is one the Boston Celtics could look to upgrade via trade, which Barnes would fit into perfectly.
Boston has the ninth overall defensive rating right now, but they do not consistently bring the energy and effort necessary to succeed on that end of the court. A veteran presence such as Barnes would help settle things on that end of the court.

The Boston Celtics have also struggled to find consistent scoring behind Brown and Tatum. Barnes would bring a consistent scoring option to the team and someone they can rely on whenever Brown and Tatum need a rest.
Boston has some younger players in Romeo Langford, Payton Pritchard, and Aaron Nesmith they can build a package around. Juancho Hernangomez and Dennis Schroder could be used to help match the salary and have first-round picks they can offer as well.
