Does this trade make sense for the Denver Nuggets?
Giving up Jeff Green right now does not necessarily seem like the smartest move for the Denver Nuggets to make given that Michael Porter Jr. and P.J. Dozier are done for the season, but at the same time, Kendrick Nunn can provide a lot of extra scoring value to this team.
The Nuggets are offensively challenged right now because of all of their injuries and outside of Nikola Jokic, it has been hard to find consistency. Barton, Gordon and Morris have stepped up at times, but overall, this team just needed more dependable scorers if they are to have a shot of making a playoff run.
Having Kendrick Nunn may clog up their backcourt when Jamal Murray returns from his ACL injury, but Nunn can play either guard position and can take pressure off of Jokic as well due to his playmaking abilities.
Moving Jeff Green would still leave the Nuggets thin on the perimeter though, which is why they may prefer to add Talen Horton-Tucker instead of Kendrick Nunn from the Lakers.

With Zeke Nnaji and JaMychal Green in the frontcourt, Denver can get away with trading Jeff Green away, but this move would leave them with one less contributor on the wing. This is a risk that the Denver Nuggets probably are not willing to take right now, which is why they probably would not make this deal with the Lakers.
