New Orleans Pelicans Receive: G/F Jeremy Lamb
Indiana Pacers Receive: G Tomas Satoransky
This trade may not look like a whole lot in terms of both teams actually gaining something, but both of the contracts do match up and both teams would actually be getting a player that would fill a hole on their roster.
Starting with the Pacers, they just need guys who can contribute right now on both ends of the floor at any position. They also could use some more backcourt depth since T.J. McConnell and Malcolm Brogdon are their only primary facilitators/ball-handlers.
Tomas Satoransky is not a game-changer in any way, but he is coming off a really solid season with the Bulls last year. In 58 games with Chicago, the veteran guard averaged 7.7 points, 2.4 rebounds, 4.7 assists and shot 35.6% from three-point range.
Whether it is in the starting unit or off-the-bench, Tomas Satoransky is a veteran guy who can play his role perfectly, regardless if it is for a short period of time or not. In New Orleans this year, he is only seeing about 15.6 minutes per game, hence why he is only averaging 2.6 points and shooting just 32% from the floor.

Being utilized more as a secondary facilitator, as well as a catch-and-shoot threat on the perimeter, Tomas Satoransky could prove to be a valuable trade deadline addition for the Pacers.
The Pelicans definitely have a need for another wing scorer, especially since they only have Josh Hart and Brandon Ingram on the wing. Rookie Herb Jones has not been bad, but he is not much of a scorer from the perimeter for this team.
For his career, Jeremy Lamb has shot 34.6% from three-point range and has averaged at least 10 points per game for the season each of the last four years. So far this season, he is only averaging 7.2 points, but he has only played in 16 games for about 13.9 minutes per game.

With the Pelicans, Lamb would be utilized in a “sixth-man” type of role behind Brandon Ingram and he could wind up being a valuable catch-and-shoot threat for this team. The veteran is not being used anymore by the Pacers due to Chris Duarte and Justin Holiday outplaying him, which is why they should have no problem moving Lamb.
It is going to be very tough for both the Indiana Pacers and New Orleans Pelicans to get back into playoff contention in their respective conferences, but this trade could wind up helping both teams address a need in their rotations.
