Again, substitute Kyrie Irving into this trade instead of James Harden and maybe there is a deal to be had here, but there is as close to a 0% chance as you can get that the Brooklyn Nets will look to trade James Harden.

Something catastrophic and crazy would have to happen within this organization for them to want to get rid of Harden, especially since they are currently without Kyrie Irving! Even if they get CJ McCollum back, he is not the same MVP talent that James Harden is, which is why the Nets will not consider this deal.

The only thing that Brooklyn needs to consider in regards to their All-Star talents is that Kevin Durant is currently 33-years-old, James Harden is 32 and Kyrie Irving is 29. Kevin Durant and Harden are not getting any younger, which is why the Nets do need to start formulating a plan for three-to-four years down the road.

However, this team is in the midst of contending for a title and they are currently at the top of the Eastern Conference standings with the Bulls and Wizards at 10-wins. There is no reason to make a drastic roster change unless they are to move Kyrie Irving.

As for Portland, the complete opposite applies to them. The Blazers are in dire need of a big move being made to their roster, especially if they want to keep Damian Lillard long-term. Now 31-years-old, Lillard is going to begin thinking about his future and if Portland does not have a chance to win a title within the next few years, he could very well request a trade this coming offseason.

By going out and getting James Harden, a real MVP threat, the Portland Trail Blazers would have two of the best scoring guards in the league and two elite-level players to help make them a championship threat in the Western Conference. This seems too good to be true for the Blazers though and the Brooklyn Nets are not going to be dealing Harden anytime soon.
