How This Trade Impacts Indiana Pacers
There has been a lot of talk about the Indiana Pacers breaking up their jumbo frontcourt pairing of Domantas Sabonis and Myles Turner. They have reportedly been shopping Turner for two years, so a trade involving him would not come as a surprise.
Turner is having a great season, so this could be the time to find a deal. His value is very high, as he is showcasing more of his talent offensively and remains an elite rim protector. But, Indiana is at their best with only one of Sabonis or Turner on the court.
Both are better suited to play the center spot, so flipping Turner into a more natural power forward such as Pascal Siakam would make sense.
Siakam would provide Indiana with another player capable of being a go-to scorer. Teams would find it difficult to slow them down offensively as they would have a multitude of players capable of carrying the offense for spurts.

Defensively, Siakam isn’t the rim protector that Turner is, but he would provide them with some versatility on that end of the court. He can defend virtually anyone for spurts, as he has the size to defend frontcourt players and is athletic enough to stick with players on the perimeter.
Coming along with him is Svi Mykhailiuk, who would help replace the 3-point shooting the team lost when Doug McDermott departed in free agency. The package to acquire both of them isn’t overly expensive and is one Indiana should have a lot of interest in should it be something that is offered to them.
