1. Minnesota Timberwolves
Throughout the offseason, the Minnesota Timberwolves were on the look for an upgrade at the power forward spot. They were linked to Atlanta Hawks forwards John Collins and Danilo Gallinari, but nothing came to fruition. The team was also reportedly one of the teams pursuing JaMychal Green and Paul Millsap in free agency.
Missing out on all of those options, the Minnesota Timberwolves have been using Jarred Vanderbilt and Jaden McDaniels there this season. Minnesota was one of the teams pursuing Ben Simmons, so they were looking to make a move. Depending on the package, they could have used Simmons in the frontcourt more, where he may be a better fit.
But, nothing seems to be close to getting done on that front. Given how many options they looked through in the offseason, if they aim a little lower, inquiring about P.J. Washington would make sense.
Washington would be a great fit alongside Karl-Anthony Towns in the team’s frontcourt. The former Kentucky products have skill sets that mesh well offensively with their inside-out games. Defensively, given the strides Washington has made, he could help compensate for some of the team’s shortcomings on that end of the court.

The Minnesota Timberwolves need a shake-up of some sort. They have done a lot of losing in recent years, making the playoffs only once in 2018 since 2004. To change that, they need to make upgrades to the roster and Washington would present that.
