1. Their Elite Defense

If there is something the Golden State Warriors can rely on throughout this season it is their elite defense. Even if their offense doesn’t have it going one night, they will still have a chance to win the game as their defense will keep them in it.

Golden State is currently leading the NBA with a defensive rating of 97.4. They are playing stifling defense led by Draymond Green, who has thrown his name back into the ring as the most versatile and best defender in the league.

He helps set the tone on that end of the court and the rest of his teammates follow suit. The results have been excellent thus far and it is hard to envision their production on that end of the court falling off too much.

Prior to his injury, Klay Thompson was one of the best two-way players in the NBA. If he can return to form even close to that level defensively, the Warriors become that much more difficult to score against.

While highlights are more often than not created by offensive plays, it is the defense that still wins championships. If you cannot keep your opponent from scoring, it will be difficult to win games. Right now, there is no one in the NBA that limits opposing offenses as well as Golden State does and that is the No. 1 reason they are legitimate title favorites.
