4. They Have Stephen Curry
When you have a perennial MVP candidate on your team, success will usually follow. The Golden State Warriors have Stephen Curry, which gives them a chance to win every time they step on the court.
Curry is playing at an MVP level once again at the start of the 2021-22 season. He is seventh in the NBA with 25.2 points per game, adding 6.6 rebounds and 6.2 assists, which is 15th, to boot. Even scarier for opposing teams, he really hasn’t gotten things going yet offensively.
Curry is shooting well below his career numbers from the field overall and the 3-point line. Outside of the injury-marred 2019-20 season, in which he played only five games, Curry has never shot below 45.1 percent from the field or 41.1 percent from the 3-point line.
Thus far this season, Curry is shooting 42 percent overall from the field and 37.4 percent from the 3-point line. A poor team is going to get a vintage Curry explosion against them sooner than later as his numbers will undoubtedly get closer to his career norms at some point.
